Album: Wave Race 64 Original Soundtrack

First off, the title of "Milky Lake" was new to me as I started putting this article together.  Having only played the North American version of the game, I only knew this track as the music that played during the race on Drake Lake.  You know, that level that started out full of fog and calm water, and by the third lap the fog had completely dissipated and the sun was up with brilliant blue skies?  This stage was easily my favorite partly because of the overall chill vibes of the course, and because you could really take in how gorgeous the water looked back in 1996, plus you did not have any of those pesky waves risking to throw you off balance, but you did have to watch out for the old dock posts hanging out in the water partially obscured by the fog as you tried to get to the correct side of the oncoming L/R buoy.

The music here perfectly suits the vibe and feeling of Drake Lake (or Milky Lake if you prefer), being a level midway through the races, just sort of an "ahhhhh" setting with accompanying music to match the setting (similar to the track "Aquatic Ambience" in Coral Capers from Donkey Kong Country).

Until you hit one of the old dock posts.
